Recognise expertise

The HYDRECO Laboratory contains a Chemical and a Biological division employing a dozen engineers, researchers, and technicians specialized in the areas of:

• physico-chemical water quality;
• aquatic invertebrates in continental waters;
• fish found in rivers and stagnant fresh water; and
• terrestrial insects.

The multi-disciplinary nature of the laboratory permits it to examine the functional aspects of ecosystems by studying trophic networks and by conducting various investigations in the fields of eco-toxicology (i.e., the contamination of fish by the metals, mercury and aluminum).
